Party, Party

Well, these past 5 days have been awesome. Very busy, but being away from work and my h0r of a boss is always nice.

After mad preparation it was finally the day of the party. Kirstin and I would have never made it if Kruti and Paj had not arrived at 730 to help us. There was a small emergency with one of the appetizers, but it all worked out in the end. A few of the guests had arrived, and we weren’t even dressed! By 830 all was well, and more guests started arriving. You know the party is going well when people start taking vodka shots, drinking Franzia straight from the box, and of course passing out on the living room floor. The last guests departed around 430am, and Kirstin and I proceeded to clean up a bit and finally to bed at 530am. Thank you to everyone who came. Photographic evidence to come!

Party Stats

  • 35-40 guests
  • 100 plastic party cups
  • 6 bottles of wine
  • 1 box of Franzia
  • 40 beers
  • 8 bottles of vodka
  • Plus, misc appetizers & treats

The rest of the weekend was spent with the fam in good old F-Dub. It was fun, and not that eventful which was nice. I spent most of the time trying to catch up on my sleep. Now, it’s time to formulate a New Year’s Plan. Any ideas?

Say What??

Well, it’s Tuesday. Three days until our Holiday Fete, and five days till Christmas. I am thankfully done with my holiday shopping, and feel pretty smug about it as I did not start until last Wednesday and managed to finish by Saturday. I know, I know, feel the awesomeness radiate from me. Haha, the gifts are under the tree, and it is quite festive.

Last night, I received my very first gift, and I have to say it is my favorite gift so far this holiday season. Wonder what it is…well, it’s a Lacoste Polo! Haha, I love it, and Robbie is the bestest for gifting me that and Choxie!!! Choxie, the chocolate with moxie. That commercial gets stuck in my head all the time. Darn you, Target for sucking me in every time by your brightly colored, fun ads!

Tonight begins the holiday prep and planning. Kirstin and I plan to hit Costco, Trader Joe’s, Safeway and the liquor store. It seems a bit ambitious, but we are armed with our master list and are ready to go. So far we have 39 guests that have been Nice this year. We are a bit overwhelmed, but think we can handle it.

Also, in other news I am still waiting to hear back from the job. After three interviews, a writing sample submission and calls to my old managers I am still waiting. I am obsessing, but hopefully I will hear today. Who knows though!!! If I never mention the job again that means I did not get it and am spiraling down into a deep depression. Please keep this in mind!

The Christmas Spirit

Well, as many of you know I am filled with the Christmas spirit. So much so that Kirstin and I are opening up our home and our hearts to host a very special Holiday Fete. I just want to let everyone know that this little Fete will cost a pretty penny so when you do not get a gift from me it’s because I threw this lovely party for all to enjoy. I am mostly kidding about this, but want you to keep this in mind.

The holidays are so enjoyable, well, up to a point. Gift giving is great fun when you have thought of the perfect gift to give. But it’s not as enjoyable when you are at a loss, grasping at ideas. I officially began my shopping on Saturday, and now have bought two gifts. I still have some work to do, but will power through it this week.

On a sidenote, KG, enjoy Argentina. You must go to Central Restaurant in Palermo, Iguazu Falls, and El Calafate (did not get to go, but was sad). I guess I only thought of three things! Sorry, but enjoy!

Oh, Christmas Tree

Sigh, another weekend is over. Why can’t there be two days of work and five days of rest? It really seems like a much better solution.

Friday night Kirstin and I walked over two blocks to Madison to pick up a tree from Kringle’s Corner. Proceeds from the sale of the tree did not go to the likes of the Boy Scouts or Little League, but to our local AA group. Haha, Kirstin remarked it was a very Capitol Hill Christmas, and to further celebrate our urban Christmas we walked our tree home.

Saturday night Kirstin, Catherine, Nichola and I went out. Can you believe it…three weekends in a row! I am on fire, however, next weekend I look forward to staying in! Mm, it shall be lovely. I just hope that the Social Enforcer aka CT doesn’t find this out. She is ruthless!!! I wonder though when will aviators be over? I saw 3-5 guys wearing them out on Saturdayinside. Why??
